Introducing a new baby boy - lifestyle newborn story

I travelled to these proud parent's location to capture the first photographs of this gorgeous little boy. The house was beautifully situated and perfect for these photos which were taken in the main bedroom and the lounge room. As always, I wanted to capture the story of this family with their firstborn in the way they wanted, so I took my cue from them and how content their son was. I often have an idea of how the 'perfect newborn session' might unfold, but I hold it loosely so that I can tell the story in the way the family would like it told and not the way I imagine it.

Once he was hungry, we took some nursing photos and then moved on to both parents cuddling and delighting in him, before finishing with some family portraits and close up detail shots once he was fast asleep. These little people grow so quickly, so I always feel a few close up images are a must. He was an absolute treat to photograph in this natural setting with all his family surrounding him and I wish them all much joy for the future.
